Although they are the most difficult things we will encounter they can also fill us with love, warmth, and wisdom that will serve us for the rest of our time within our own time here in our bodies. A touching and personal account of a tragic situation. Laurie Berry Clifford's Jordan's Road offers an inspiring way to hold some of the hardest things we have to face in life. I found myself intrigued by her unique approach in dealing with this tragedy.
Her connection to The One is deep and full. It brought me to such an intimate understanding of what she went through....almost as if I were by her side.
Her words transported me to a way of thinking that I had never considered could exist in such a sad, difficult time.
It freed me from the sadness, offering me a new direction to operate from, and ultimately, gave me a greater understanding of the power of Grace.
A tender and heartfelt telling of a journey through loss and grief and it's transformation into spiritual grace, this book shows that the hardest things in life we face can become, through grace, wrapped tenderly in joy, love, and peace. Jordan's Road is a wonderful book. I couldn't put it down. Then I gave it to my 89 year old Grandmother, who is a voracious reader. She couldn't put it down. Then I read it again. I suspect that at different points in my life I will read it again. When I asked my Grandmother how we should review this book, she said that this is a book that she would encourage everyone to read. We all face hard things in life. Laurie's perspective is unique and insightful. The lessons are profound. In our modern culture it is especially valuable for a myriad of reasons. In sharing her most personal stories, Laurie has provided an inspiring map of how to face life's hard times with faith and hope. Do yourself a favor and get the paperback, so you can share it with others and revisit it over time. I'm going to get another copy to send as a Christmas present for another reader in my life. Thank you Laurie for writing this book.
Jordan's Road It is rare when a book falls into my hands and becomes a beautiful unexpected gift. One that I was not looking for. I have read Jordan's Road several times over. Each time, I am given something new and learn something about how we all have to " meet the thing that we fear the most". This book came to me as a true "Awakening." Laurie's book helped me to walk down roads I prefer to avoid. Though the story will always be Jordan's Road, you will meet those who desperately loved and shared with her. Many walked this road with Laurie. In each experience love is found, and "Spirit", as Laurie describes is primary in the telling. I traveled this road with the author by reflecting on what it means to hold, "deepest joy and deepest sorrow. It
profoundly changed my life to face some of "Life's Hard Things." Laurie writes with honesty and depth about her own choices to meet the challenges that occurred in her life. There is sorrow and grace in the telling. And beautiful gifts to be embraced.I will always cherish this book. I refer to it for wisdom and it informs me in ways that fill me with peace and joy. And I am astonished concerning the "grit we all need, to not only be compassionate towards others, but to oneself as well. Laurie speaks to that compassion through many difficult experiences life brings to all of us.
Ready or not...it doesn't matter. Laurie encourages that choice of readiness. I did not regret the choice. I highly recommend Jordan's Road. It is worth the walk. It is worth the journey.
